Our Holiday train exhibit will open in November.  Sign up now for email notification to be the first to be invited

Located on the lower level of our Amato's Middletown store this 3,000 square foot celebration of the fun and history of toy trains features 7 operating train layouts and a display of 100's of rare and unique toy trains, and toy vehicles from the 1930's, 40's and 50's. A highlight of the exhibit is Mr. Amato's personal collection of pre-war toy trains on display to the public for the first time.

The 7 operating layouts vary from a beautiful O Gauge Lionel high rail layout, and a S Scale Christmas village, to museum quality HO, HO point-to-point, N, On30, and HOn30 scale layouts.

These large extremely detailed train displays portray authentic scenes which were painstakingly designed and built by area model train clubs in O Scale, S scale, HO scale, HON30, ON30 and N scale.

The non- stop action of these operating layouts combined with our display of a fantastic collection of toy trains ( some large enough to ride on) is sure to thrill model railroaders, children of all ages, and anyone who wants to step back to a time when all metal toys made in the USA were as large as a child's imagination.

Don’t miss the train…

Mr. Amato's personal collection of toys and trains which has been in storage for over 30 years is on display to the public for the first time.  The collection features many rare pieces and consists of pre-war model trains, train memorabilia, and antique toy vehicles.

This impressive display of Lionel, Ives and other  pre-war tinplate toy trains, plus  O Gauge Lionel, and American Flyer trains  will delight collectors as well as children. A Doepke Yardbird engine and car which once operated outdoors in the Amatos yard are large enough to ride on!

Other local private collections of Lionel, American Flyer, and Louis Marx Trains will also be a part of the large toy train display. In addition, Mr. Amato's collection of  Keystone, Buddy L and other  pre-war die-cast and steel toy vehicles is on display.
