product is temporarily out of stock that may delay your shipment.

SHIPPING
& HANDLING FEES: Our
standard shipping and handling fees cover 99% of all shipments via
ground service to street addresses with in the continental United
States. This fee covers a single standard size carton.
Additional
charges may be assessed for
orders which contain items described as requiring a separate shipping fee or described as oversized. Typically these additional
charges are minor. See

To keep shipping charges to a
minimum many of the train sets and slot race sets that we sell are
packaged in brown cardboard cartons rather than retail boxes. If
you prefer to purchase the set in retail packaging (as typically found on
a store shelf) please contact customer service as often we have the same
product for sale in retail packaging in our stores. Please
understand that due to the shape and size of this packaging this option
will often add a minimum of $15 to $20 in additional shipping charges to
your order.

When your order
is shipped, we will e-mail you a UPS tracking number *
* E-mail notification requires
that you provide an accurate e-mail address when placing your order. If
you did not provide an accurate e-mail address we cannot provide order
tracking information. Order status and tracking information is not available
for USPS shipments.
Typically delivery
by ground service should be completed in 1-7 working days after the shipment
leaves our warehouse (7 days being from
our location in Connecticut to California).
But since delivery is the responsibly of the carrier
we cannot guarantee* any specific delivery date for ground delivery by USPS
or UPS.
Please understand that
Hobby Surplus cannot guarantee* a specific delivery date nor accept responsibility
for the actual delivery date of your order. Following these guidelines
should help. To avoid disappointment we urge you to place your orders as
far in advance of the desired delivery date as possible.

IF
YOU NEED DELIVERY BY A SPECIFIC DATE
Unless
you require immediate delivery, ground delivery service is often
all that is needed. However if delivery is required by a specific
date please use the special instructions section of the order form to
indicate the required date. Please note that Guaranteed*
delivery by a specific date may require an upgrade to UPS 3 Day Select or 1
or 2 day Air Service to a street address. See below for information
on how to request this service.

If you wish to upgrade to UPS or USPS Air Delivery Service
please request that in the special instructions section of the order form
as you finalize your order. Specify the type of service and date you
want the order delivered by.
Upgrades to AIR delivery
( UPS 1, 2 , or 3 day or USPS Priority ) are subject to our standard S & H fee
plus the weight and size based shipping cost assessed by the carrier. Note:
When
Upgrading to a Guaranteed* UPS Air delivery it means that after the package leaves our
warehouse it is guaranteed* by UPS to be delivered with in the
specified transit days.
For example an order with 2 Day Air delivery placed on a Monday
could be processed and shipped by us on Tuesday. UPS would guarantee*
2 day delivery by Thursday. Saturday and Sunday are not transit days
for UPS. (Saturday AIR delivery is available in some regions for
an additional fee.)

shipment type in the special instructions section of the order form.

TO ADDRESSES OUTSIDE THE
CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES
In
addition to the 48 continental United States we also ship to APO / FPO
addresses as well as addresses in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and
Canada.
At this
time we cannot accept orders shipped to other locations.
FEES: Shipments outside continental United States are subject to our standard S & H fee
plus:

We ship via US Air Mail
or UPS Air service at your option. Please note
that if no shipping insurance is available to the destination country we
cannot accept responsibility for the shipment once it leaves our
warehouse. This means that you are entirely responsible for the
shipment and can not make any claims if it is lost or damaged.
International
shipping costs are subject to distance, weight and size
considerations. We cannot determine the actual cost until the order
is packaged for shipment
then this cost is added to your invoiced amount. Estimated shipping costs
for can vary from 20-40% or more
of your order subtotal. Please

require an more accurate estimate of the shipping charges that will be added
to your order.
Please understand that
we cannot estimate or predict in transit delivery times for international
delivery by USPS service ( NOTE: International surface parcel post is no
longer provided by USPS). It can vary from a few day or weeks to a month or
more. Delivery by UPS AIR service typically takes 3-5 days and the
costs for this service can exceed $100 or more.
Charges
For Shipments via USPS or
Shipments That Are Excessively Large or Heavy
FEES: Our
standard shipping and handling fees cover 99% of all shipments via

States. This fee covers a single standard size carton. Additional
charges may be assessed for
orders which contain items described as requiring a separate
shipping fee and may require separate cartons or are described as oversized. Typically these additional
charges are minor:
Types of orders
that may incur additional charges are: Orders containing more one or
more: train set, race set, case of track, case of roadbed, large scale
models ( 1:350 ships, 1:16,1:8 cars). These large bulky items are
described as requiring special shipping consideration.
For example, take a single order that contains three oversize 1:350
scale ship models or two
large train sets described as requiring a separate S&H fee per set.
The
order total displayed by the shopping cart will reflect the standard S&H fee.
However if the shipment requires separate cartons for each of the train sets or
a
oversized cartons for the oversize models and the total shipping costs for
these cartons exceed our standard fee we will
add additional shipping costs to the total invoice when the order is shipped.
Often we can
pack your order to avoid the addition the full S&H fee per item as
indicated in the description of the items and the additional costs if any
are just a few dollars.
Please note that

BACK ORDER POLICY
We
strive to maintain a full and complete inventory of over 30,000 unique
hobby and toy products. Many of the manufactures that we order from are
small and occasionally may have difficulty re-supplying us on time.
Please use the special instructions section of our on line order form
and choose one of the 3 options to instructions us a how to serve you in
the event that an item you ordered is temporarily out of stock:

Immediately
ship all in-stock items. We will back order items expected in 15-45
days and ship them separately. (Separate S&H Fee charged
for each back order shipment.) OR
-
Hold your
order until all items have been filled. (Note: After 60 days we will
ship available items and cancel those we cannot supply). OR
-
Immediately
ship all in-stock items and cancel items not available at this time.
(We suggest that you re-order in 45-60 days.)
