WILESCO SHOWMAN'S
TRACTOR

At the beginning of the twentieth century,
the
"SHOWMAN'S ENGINE" could be found at every county fair. It was used to
drive the carnival rides and to provide illumination for the fairground.
These old-timers were decorated with bright colors and fitted with a dynamo so
that they could generate their own electricity. |

Specifications:
This fully working live steam engine features a chemically black painted brass boiler,
diameter 45 mm, length 150 mm, boiler volume 250 cm with water gauge glass.
Powerful, double acting reversible cylinder with the fly wheel of an 80 mm
diameter.
The showman's engine can be run in forward or reverse depending on the
movement of the fly wheel. Spring loaded safety valve, steam regulator, steam
whistle, steam jet oiler and foot bridge, traditional chain steering. A clutch
engaged gear wheel permits the use of the engine and the operation of the dynamo
either stationary or driving.
The dynamo illuminates the eight diodes mounted
around the canopy of the engine giving off bright light. The condensed water of
this engine is collected below the smoke stack. Approximately 6" W x
12" L x 8" H Heated by dry fuel tablets. Running time 15 minutes per
fuelling.

working model of turn of the century traction engine with smoke stack, traditional steering wheel chain drive.
Not only does it roll under its own power, but it features a clutch engaged gear wheel,
permitting the use of the machine as a stationary steam engine. |

The Wilesco model
Vintage Steam Fire Engine is based on an original Fire
Engine which was produced by Magirus in Germany at the beginning of this
century. However, these fire engines were also to be found in England and the
USA. |

The Wilesco fire engine is powered by
a vertical boiler. It can be can be driven forward and reverse, the speed is
regulated by using the speed control value. When stationary the engine's self
priming pump can be operated by moving the clutch lever into the rear position.
The water tank, located under the front seat, is connected to the pump, by a
short hose.
This fire engine replica can really "squirt" the water up to 6-9 feet!
